The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to building a better health system, supporting staff, driving better care, and delivering the best possible outcomes for patients in Tasmania.
As part of our plan to construct new stations, the Government is now seeking tenders to construct three new ambulance stations providing new modern facilities for our first responders.
The new stations, in Bridgewater, Oatlands, and Queenstown, will each include on-site facilities for paramedics, a training room, and a garage for two ambulances.
The Oatlands station will include a two-bedroom residence for paramedics, allowing them to live on site.
The Government allocated $7.5 million to the provision of Ambulance Tasmania facilities as part of the COVID-19 Response – Rebuilding Tasmania Infrastructure Investment Program, on top of $5 million provided in the 2018-19 State Budget.
These new facilities will ensure that our first responders have modern and fit-for-purpose facilities to enable them to provide the best possible care to Tasmanians in times of emergency.
We have a plan to improve rural and regional access to paramedics and to improve response times, and we are delivering on it.
Works on the stations are expected to be completed in 2023.
