Nick Duigan was elected as the Liberal Member for Windermere in May 2021, following more than three decades working in television, including 20 years hosting the national fishing program Hook Line and Sinker. Nick also has long standing experience in small business as a transport operator since his early 20’s.
In October 2023, Nick was appointed Minister for Energy and Renewables, Minister for Parks, Minister for Heritage and Minister for Small Business. In April 2024 he was reappointed as Minister for Energy and Renewables and Minister for Parks. He was also appointed as Minister for Environment. In October 2024 he was additionally appointed Minister for Sports and Events and continues to be responsible as Minister for Energy and Renewables and Minister for Parks.
Sport has always been a big part of Nick’s life. He has also had the enormous privilege of watching and supporting his daughters from the sideline participate in sport over the years. He is honoured to have the opportunity to support the development of community and sporting infrastructure and programs that encourage Tasmanians to be active, which we know has more than just physical health benefits.
Nick lives in Launceston with his wife Amanda and their three daughters and is an active member of local social, sporting, and recreational aviation communities, and has volunteered to support men’s health initiatives, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and is a national Neighbour Day Ambassador.
