Nic Street is your proud local Liberal member in Franklin.
Born and raised in Kingborough, Nic is a graduate of the University of Tasmania and was educated in Hobart.
Nic knows that local communities thrive when their representatives know them personally and understand the issues that are important to them. This is something that Nic is very passionate about, and prides himself on being an approachable and trusted voice for his community.
Before being elected to Parliament, he served almost two terms as local councillor.
A former small business operator, Nic knows what it takes to create jobs for Tasmanians and help our young people get the training and skills they need to succeed. He knows how to do it because he has employed real people in real jobs.
As a lifelong believer in the power of community sport, Nic enjoys a long association with the Kingborough District Cricket Club as a former player and board member. Nic understands that our local sporting clubs play a vital social and health role in the community, and he is committed to supporting them and helping them grow.
When Nic has free time he can often be found on the golf course, spending time with family, or going to the footy on the weekend.
