Delivering for Lyons

Southern Lyons

  • Continuing the redevelopment of the Royal Hobart Hospital Redevelopment, including an expanded emergency department;
  • Investing in a new Public Diagnostic Breast Care Centre and Cancer Wellness Centre;
  • Delivering 27 new mental health beds and a new eating disorder facility at the St John’s Park Health and Wellbeing Precinct;
  • Building a new 40 bed Older Persons Mental Health Complex at St John’s Park;
  • Delivering further upgrades to the Midlands Multipurpose Health Centre Upgrade;
  • Delivering further improvements to the Arthur Highway;
  • Duplication of the Midway Point and Sorell causeways and the Tasman Highway between the Hobart Airport interchange and the Midway Point Causeway;
  • Delivering further upgrades to the Lyell Highway between Granton and Strahan;
  • Making Mount Field a year-round destination with a new arrival concourse;
  • Upgrading Dodges Ferry Primary School.
  • Delivering a new Park and Ride facility at Midway Point; and
  • Upgrading the Bridgewater Police Station.

Northern Lyons

  • Continuing the Launceston General Hospital redevelopment, including the doubling of the emergency department and a new medical research centre;
  • Constructing the Northern Heart Centre;
  • Building a brand new, dedicated mental health precinct at the LGH;
  • Establishing a new Northern Eating Disorder Clinic in Prospect Vale;
  • Constructing a new ambulance station at Longford;
  • Delivering upgrades to the Bass Highway between Launceston and Devonport;
  • Completion of the final upgrade to the Midland Highway, north of Campbell Town;
  • Upgrades to Illawarra Road from Bishopsbourne Road to the Meander Valley Council municipal boundary and Pateena Road to the southern side of the South Esk River Bridge;
  • Progressing a new supersized Child and Family Learning Centre in Longford; and
  • Upgrading facilities at Campbell Town District High School and Deloraine High School.

East Coast

  • Construction of a new ambulance station at Bicheno;
  • Delivering the St Helens Police Station upgrades;
  • Road upgrades to St Mary’s Pass;
  • Funding a new Freycinet Visitor Gateway, making it more accessible;
  • Supporting Iconic events through the Budget including the Deloraine Craft Fair and Bicheno Food and Wine festival; and
  • Progress three packages of works to the Tasman Highway including between Bicheno and Coles Bay Road, upgrades north of Triabunna, and upgrades between Pontypool and Rocky Hills.
