Felix Ellis, Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Management

Dean Winter’s plan to cut jobs in the public service to save the Budget money won’t extend to his own as he prepares to receive a 22% pay rise.

Unlike the Liberal Government who have declared they won’t accept the pay increase for politicians, Mr Winter has remained silent in a bid to sneakily see the pay rise come into effect.

Unless Labor joins with the Liberals to reject the increase, it will be effected.

Mr Winter’s lack of leadership on the matter, at a time when Tasmanians are feeling the pinch of cost of living, shows where his priorities are.

He is so busy selfishly attempting to grab power, the last thing on his mind is acting in the best interests of Tasmanians.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has been clear.

The recommended increase is out of step with community expectations and we will not be accepting it.

Will Dean Winter confirm he will do the same or is this part of his plan to cut and increase taxes?

Tasmanians cannot afford to go back to a Labor Government.
