Labor desperately seeking relevance

Since the start of the pandemic, Premier Peter Gutwein has made himself available to public scrutiny more than 220 times at COVID-19 press conferences.

In fact, since opening Tasmania’s borders on December 15, Mr Gutwein has worked every single day as well as conducting 17 COVID press conferences in 44 days, with relevant ministers also making daily appearances across the State to provide updates and answer questions on our transition to living with COVID-19.

Yet Labor once again displays a fundamental lack of care and concern by suggesting we abandon our Public Health informed transition plan for living with COVID and rush back to Parliament early.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is busy getting on with the job and we are working as a team unlike Labor who remain hopelessly divided.

We are delivering nation-leading business support, looking after the most vulnerable in our community while preparing for our schools returning on February 9.

All the while meaningless and ill-considered Labor media releases are thrown out there like confetti, and they quite rightly go largely ignored by the Tasmanian media.

The fact is, Labor leader Rebecca White is out of ideas, out of touch and so are her colleagues.

She has very little of any substance to add to public debate, instead preferring to play politics with the pandemic while needlessly attempting to scare Tasmanian families and undermine Public Health advice.

Enough is enough.

While Labor has nothing better to do than to try to seek relevance, the Tasmanian Liberal Government will continue to follow the Public Health advice and lead Tasmanians through our transition to living with COVID.
