Building Tasmania-Indonesia maritime partnerships

The relationship between Tasmania and Indonesia has taken its next step, with the arrival of the latest Tasmanian international trade delegation in Jakarta today.

This latest trade mission is focused on building relationships and identifying areas of cooperation across the maritime, defence and security industries.

This is the next stage of our Tasmanian Trade and Investment Mission Plan 2024 to grow and diversify economic opportunities for Tasmanian businesses in key areas across the globe.

The trade mission will explore areas of cooperation relating to maritime training and other areas of Tasmania’s maritime capability and includes representatives from Tasmania’s maritime industry as well as the Australian Maritime College.

It has been coordinated to align with the Royal Australian Navy’s Indo-Pacific Endeavour Task Group visit to Indonesia and its industry engagement program.

The Indo-Pacific Endeavour Task Group’s industry engagement program will provide a first-of-its-kind opportunity for direct engagement between Tasmanian industry, the Australian Maritime College and senior Indonesian Government and industry representatives.
