Today, Tasmania Police has launched its latest recruitment campaign, taking Tasmanians behind the scenes of the service.
The This is Tas Police campaign aims to boost recruit numbers and training over the next four years, in line with the Tasmanian Government’s commitment to increase police numbers to a record high of 1449 by 2026 - a 31 per cent increase since 2014.
More recruitment is happening now than ever before - with the exciting news from Commissioner Donna Adams today that up to 80 new recruits will be coming on board in January.
A career with Tasmania Police is incredibly rewarding, with officers highly regarded and respected within our community for the invaluable and life-changing work they undertake.
The new campaign will showcase the approachable and authentic people behind the uniform, to highlight particularly to young Tasmanians that they themselves may be well suited to a job in the service.
Community members will start to see the This is Tas Police advertising on television and social media from today, and a brand-new podcast has also gone live with weekly episodes to continue throughout the year.
