Taking Tasmanian products to the nation

Tasmania has become the first state in Australia to launch a dedicated Tasmanian Brand Store on Amazon.com.au, to showcase more of our high-quality products to eager buyers around the nation.

This will provide a way for local producers to expand their businesses and sales on the mainland, and enable more Tasmanian companies to enter the online retail world.

By making our quality Tasmanian products available on Amazon Australia, our producers can sell directly to consumers across the country. The dedicated Tasmanian Brand Store gives customers an enhanced shopping experience and more information about the brands and locals behind the products.

It is a key step in facilitating trade opportunities, both digital and traditional, to help our trading businesses boost their sales, gain more exposure and let more people enjoy what is Tasmanian.

The Tasmanian Brand Store initially features five well-known local brands, McHenry’s Distillery, Tasman Sea Salt, Hartshorn Distillery, Coaldale Walnuts and The Tasmanian Tonic Company.

Other leading brands will come on board throughout the project, demonstrating the range of extraordinary products from Tasmania, as well as the value for local businesses in taking part.

While we are trailblazing by establishing the Tasmanian Brand Store on Amazon.com.au, which we built in partnership with Podean Marketplace Marketing, we continue to explore other eCommerce marketplaces to provide even more opportunities for Tasmanian businesses.

The Tasmanian Government is committed to helping Tasmanian exporters recover and rebuild from the pandemic, including assisting businesses to embrace new e-commerce opportunities and build a greater online presence.

Tasmania produces goods that the rest of the world wants and we have a plan to grow exports to $15 billion by 2050, with the 2021 Tasmanian Trade Strategy Annual Action Plan to be released this month.

Tasmanian businesses interested in joining the Tasmanian Brand Store on Amazon should send an expression of interest to trade@stategrowth.tas.gov.au
