No ground to Standen on

The Government refuses to be lectured by the Labor party on ‘media stunts’, given it was Rebecca White and Alison Standen who stood in front of a house claiming it was empty, and a Housing Tasmania property when in fact it was neither.

That was an embarrassing ‘media stunt’.

In stark contrast, today I attended an important event announcing the construction of a social housing project which will provide 26 homes to vulnerable Tasmanians in the Kingborough region.

Ironically, Alison Standen attended this event too, but instead of supporting this initiative she chose to attack the Government, proving Labor have nothing better to do than be negative.

This petty response from Labor also undermines what was an important initiative which had wide-ranging support today from the community who took time out of their day to mark this important milestone.

Time and time again Labor will deliberately mislead Tasmanians, while it’s the Tasmanian Liberal Government actually delivering homes for Tasmanians in need of housing.

The ROGs data shows that the Government has added almost 450 net social housing dwellings over the last 2 financial years through our strong partnerships with community housing providers.

Our record investment into housing is delivering more homes for Tasmanians, in all areas of the State, with the site for these homes identified from the EOI process to build up to 1000 new homes over the next three years
