Delivering our Plan to secure Tasmania’s future

This week in Parliament the Tasmanian Liberal Government is focused on delivering the strong 2021-22 Tasmanian Budget unveiled last week which lays out our clear Plan to secure Tasmania’s future.

Now, it’s time for the opposition to put forward their alternative. Tuesday at 12 noon is the traditional time for the alternative budget and Ms White will be afforded that opportunity for Labor.

But history tells us they won’t, because history tells us this sham excuse of an opposition never do.

We know that Shane Broad’s first Budget as Treasurer has already been a spectacular fizzer, proving he couldn’t be trusted in a game of Monopoly let alone the task of managing Tasmania’s budget.

On ABC radio last week Dr Broad was asked how Labor would do things differently, and he confirmed that Labor has absolutely no alternative plan.

Presenter: …what would you cut in the way of spending or how would you increase revenue?

Shane Broad: So we’ve had the Budget since one o’clock in the lock-up. So it’s a bit early to say that. (ABC Radio Drive, 26/8/21).

Astoundingly, the shock horrors for the Labor party don’t end there with a staggering lack of leadership from Rebecca White on display as the factional warfare continues.

If Rebecca White can’t manage her own team, how on earth could she be trusted to manage an $8 billion Budget?

In stark contrast, the Liberal Government is getting on with delivering our strong Plan to secure Tasmania’s future.
