The Tasmanian Government is continuing to review our restrictions, including our border restrictions, that keep Tasmanians safe.
At the same time, we are continuing our planning and preparations to respond to any cases to reduce the risks to the wider community.
I want to commend the efforts of Victorians for getting on top of COVID-19, and today I am very pleased to confirm we will relax our border restrictions with Victoria from 12:01am this Friday, November 27th.
After more than 8 months of border restrictions we look forward to welcoming Victorians back to Tasmania, and to the many Tasmanian friends and family residing in Victoria, we look forward to saying welcome home.
This means that from Friday, those travelling to Tasmania from Victoria will not be required to quarantine, but will be health screened at the border along with our other visitors and I know this will be welcomed by so many who have been waiting months to reunite with loved ones. People arriving in Tasmania from Victoria from this date should register their travel and contact details via the Tas e-Travel system to receive a Tas e-Travel QR code.
Public Health is continuing to monitor the situation in South Australia, and we will provide a further update regarding current restrictions tomorrow.
To keep on top of COVID so we can keep doing the things we love, all Tasmanians and those visiting our state, must work together and follow the rules that keep us safe.
