Labor’s radio silence continues for yet another week

The weeks continue to roll by and still Labor refuses to update Tasmanians on the outcomes of its internal investigations into claims against its former Leader, David O’Byrne and its State President, Ben McGregor.

This appalling radio silence has gone on for too long - more than a month has now passed since Rebecca White was resurrected as Labor Leader. It is simply not good enough that with only two weeks until Parliament resumes, she is allowing these fundamental questions to remain unanswered.

- is the President still threatening legal action against their recycled Labor leader?

- what are the outcomes of the investigation into the claims against the President and those against one of their own sitting MPs, and will either of them be continuing in their roles?

-  is Labor’s National Executive still planning to take over management of the Tasmanian Labor Party?

Tasmanian democracy is at its best when we have a strong majority government but also a credible opposition. Premier Peter Gutwein and the Liberal Team are providing strong, stable, majority Government, but the Labor opposition has gone to ground.

It is beyond time that Federal Labor Leader Anthony Albanese stepped in to sort out his Tasmanian situation.
