Planning for the future of our community sporting infrastructure

The Tasmanian Liberal Government recognises the importance of the sport and recreation sector to the Tasmanian community.

We are committed to supporting all Tasmanians to access sport and recreation opportunities, and we know that infrastructure is a key part of this.

Today, our Government has launched the consultation draft of the Tasmanian Community Sport and Active Recreation Infrastructure Strategy.

The Strategy will support the Tasmanian Government to make considered and informed decisions about future investment in a broad range of community sports and active recreation infrastructure.

The Department of Communities Tasmania, through Communities, Sport and Recreation, has developed the draft Strategy and is seeking input to finalise it.

The draft Strategy will be provided to key stakeholders across the State, including sport and recreation organisations, heads of Government agencies and local Government.

The draft Strategy can be accessed at https://www.communities.tas.gov.au/csr/sportrec/sport_and_recreation_infrastructure/tasmanian-community-sport-and-active-recreation-infrastructure-strategy and feedback is invited via email at csrinfrastructure@communities.tas.gov.au until 8 April 2022.
