The Tasmanian Government welcomes the new three year sponsorship agreement between Hydro Tasmania and the Hobart Hurricanes.
The agreement will see the Hydro logo on the men’s playing kits this summer and both men’s and women’s next summer, as well as men’s and women’s coaches apparel from this year.
The partnership is also set to benefit grassroots cricket in the state, with both organisations working together on community initiatives all around Tasmania, including the Cricket Community Blitz which sees players visiting schools in every region each year.
Our Government recognises that this has been a difficult year for Tasmanian sport, and this is why we have provided nearly $3 million in support to sporting clubs and organisations around Tasmania to assist them through the challenges of COVID-19. Cricket Tasmania received $150,000 to help keep 15 people employed throughout the organisation.
With the men’s Big Bash fixture yet to be announced, our Government and Cricket Tasmania are working hard to secure Big Bash matches here in Tasmania before Christmas and hopefully we will have some exciting news around this soon.
