The Tasmanian Government is a strong supporter of our agricultural shows, and we want to ensure they can continue to bring together regional communities for decades to come.

The 2022-23 State Budget includes increased funding of our Agricultural Show Development Grants Program 2022-23 to rural and regional show societies across Tasmania.

This program provides vital community infrastructure and helps these iconic community events remain relevant into the future.

Applications are now open for the Agricultural Show Development Grants Program 2022-23, with funding of up to $25,000 from a funding pool of $250,000 available to support the operation of the annual agricultural show through:
*Developing infrastructure; and/or
*Improving governance, planning or use of technology.

This is on top of our investment announced during the 2021 State Election, of a further $910,000 in show facility upgrades and construction for regional Show Societies.

We have also committed to providing $42.15 million for the redevelopment of the Hobart Showgrounds, as well as $850,000 to Rural Youth to assist the organisation continue AGFEST as Tasmania’s premier agricultural field day.
