Delivering for Braddon

  • Investing in an expanded emergency department and medical ward at the North West Regional Hospital;
  • Delivering new sub-acute facilities at the Mersey Community Hospital;
  • Funding the North West Maternity Services to transition from the North West Private Hospital to the Tasmanian Health Service;
  • Continuing major upgrades to the Bass Highway between Launceston and Marrawah;
  • Supporting victim-survivors with a new Arch Centre at Burnie;
  • Investing in new Emergency Services Hubs at Rosebery and Wynyard;
  • Supporting the recruitment of an additional permanent firefighter day-crew on the North-West Coast;
  • Investing in a new Mental Health Hub at Devonport;
  • Upgrades to Burnie and Havenview Primary Schools as part of our School Building Blitz program;
  • Supporting students with a disability by investing in a brand new purpose-built North-West Support School in Devonport and delivering significant upgrades to the North-West Support School’s Burnie campus;
  • Delivering a new Child and Family Learning Centre at Smithton;
  • Building the Renewable Energy Training Hub for the North-West;
  • Funding for the Critical Minerals Strategy and the extension of the Explorations Drilling Grants Initiative
  • Delivering the Burnie Court Complex;
  • Funding to support the Burnie City Council to complete the first stages of its masterplan;
  • Funding to support the Devonport Community Sporting redevelopment;
  • Delivering an improved experience at the Nut State Reserve and the Dial Range, and progressing the Next Iconic Walk on the West Coast; and
  • Supporting 21 community sporting clubs and facilities.

Delivering for the West Coast & King Island

  • Delivering the new King Island Ambulance Station and recruiting two community paramedics;
  • Recruiting more community paramedics for our district hospitals, including at King Island and Queenstown;
  • Funding the Royal Flying Doctor Service to continue delivering oral health services to concession card holders and children across the West Coast;
  • Building a fit-for-purpose Hub for police, fire and emergency services workers in Rosebery;
  • Undertaking a new study on the Grassy Harbour Port Expansion;
  • Incentivising investment in the discovery and development of critical minerals through our supercharged Critical Minerals Strategy; and
  • Continuing to support our King Island farmers with drought support.
