Junction Arts Festival 2020

Celebrating a decade as Launceston’s premier arts and culture event, the Tasmanian Government is a proud supporter of the Junction Arts Festival and we are pleased to contribute $1.25 million over the course of our five year partnership from 2017 – 2021.

I am delighted that Junction Arts Festival will return to deliver a series of adapted COVID safe events which comply with gathering restrictions, including a COVID- Safe Plan, on the rescheduled dates of 27-29 November 2020 in Prince’s Square.

Tagged as an intimate festival of ‘extraordinary experiences in unusual places’ Junction Arts Festival is an important contributor to the social fabric of northern Tasmania and has played a pivotal role in cementing Launceston’s reputation as a vibrant cultural and creative hub.

As a result of COVID-19, travel and gathering restrictions have significantly impacted Tasmanian events and I commend the organisers of Junction Arts Festival for their innovative approach to delivering a modified four day event that will manage the COVID-19 risk, showcase Tasmanian artists and provide an opportunity for the community to come together.
