Tasmania’s West Coast will take centre stage this weekend as the inaugural Diverge Skyrun Festival launches at Queenstown, bringing a new adventure event to the State’s growing list of nature-based experiences.
Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Jane Howlett, said the event will showcase the region’s rugged mountain landscapes through a series of trail and mountain running challenges, reinforcing Tasmania’s reputation as a leading destination for adventure and nature-based tourism.
“This event is a welcome addition to Tasmania’s world-class events calendar and provides an opportunity to showcase the West Coast region,” Minister Howlett said.
“Events like this play an important role in driving visitation, encouraging travellers to explore our regions and supporting local tourism and hospitality businesses.
“Our Government is delivering for Tasmanians by supporting the visitor economy through investment in events that attract visitors to regional communities and support local businesses.”
The Tasmanian Government is investing $250,000 to support delivery of the inaugural event.
The Diverge Skyrun Festival will take place from Friday 1 May to Sunday 3 May 2026 at Driffield Street, Queenstown.
