Trade mission showcasing our world-class defence industry

The Tasmanian Liberal Government has joined forces with world class Tasmanian defence industry manufacturers in the Republic of Korea to promote what our State has to offer.

The trade mission, led by the Premier, has provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with trusted partners, Hanwha Group, over the course of two days.

Premier Rockliff said this is another important opportunity to canvas new business for Tasmanian industry and build an awareness of our growing capabilities across defence, aerospace and renewable energy.

“There is no doubt Tasmania has what the world wants, and our Government is ensuring we can further grow our markets, so that jobs and our economy can benefit,” the Premier said.

“Our trade mission plan is supporting Tasmanian businesses to showcase their capabilities, and opening doors to international buyers, distributors, and trading partners by leveraging the premium Tasmanian brand.

“I have already met with senior defence officials on this Trade mission, along with the Australian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Catherine Raper to further deepen our knowledge of opportunities to partner with Korea.”

“This trade mission will build business opportunities for our high value, high-performing defence industries, and we will continue to explore new relations and understand what connections there may be for trade and partnerships between our jurisdictions.”
