Tassie's 5 for COVID Safe Travel campaign

As we move towards easing our border restrictions on October 26 to low risk jurisdictions, it is now more important than ever that we keep on top of COVID.

Everyone has a role to play and the TICT’s Tassie’s 5 for COVID Safe travel campaign is an important reminder that COVID safe practices are a normal way of life for the foreseeable future, and it’s important we all continue to follow the rules.

I’d like to thank the tourism industry for putting together this very important campaign and all Tasmanians for continuing to follow the rules to ensure we protect our State, our economy and the jobs it supports.

This campaign is recognition by the tourism industry of its responsibility to welcome

visitors back to Tasmania safely and in doing so protect their customers, their staff, and the broader Tasmanian community.
It highlights how operators can continue to meet the standards expected of them, including social distancing, contact tracing and having COVID safe plans in place and importantly how that can be done in a uniquely Tasmanian way.

This campaign comes off the back of the Tasmanian Government’s release of its Safe Borders Strategy which outlines the measures that have been put in place to prepare for the reopening of our borders.

This is not the time for complacency, we need to keep following the simple rules, so we can continue doing the things that we all enjoy.

Remember, wash your hands, cover your coughs and sneezes, if you’re unwell stay at home and don’t go to work, and if you display even the mildest symptoms, please, get a test.
