The Rockliff Liberal Government is delivering on its commitment to grow and expand the services provided by Aboriginal organisations, to ensure they meet the needs of Aboriginal people and their families.
Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Roger Jaensch, today announced the first round of Tasmanian Aboriginal organisations to receive funding under the $5.3 million Closing the Gap Capacity Building Fund.
The following Tasmanian Aboriginal organisations will receive a share of $3.2 million in funding to support their project:
“The new and expanded services delivered by Tasmanian Aboriginal organisations will benefit Aboriginal people and their families across the state in the key areas of child welfare and family safety, justice, health and community services, cultural connections and caring for Country,” Minister Jaensch said.
“With this investment, we are expanding our partnership with Tasmanian Aboriginal people through Aboriginal led and culturally sensitive services.”
More than $2 million is available through the second tranche of funding, and proposals can be submitted to the Department of Premier and Cabinet from now until Friday 30 June 2023.
