2022-23 `Teddy' Sheean Memorial Grants Program - Round 2 now open

The Rockliff Liberal Government is a proud supporter of Tasmania’s service men and women and the tremendous contribution made by our ex‑service community in Tasmania.

Applications are now open for the 2022-23 Teddy Sheean VC Memorial Grants Program – Round Two.

``The Teddy Sheean VC Memorial Grants Program was established as a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice made by Tasmanian sailor Edward ‘Teddy’ Sheean VC, who gave his life for his country and fellow shipmates during a battle in 1942 off the coast of East Timor,’’ Veterans’ Affairs Minister Guy Barnett said.

``The Grants Program honours Teddy Sheean VC as a representative of the many Tasmanians who selflessly fought and served and gave their lives for others in the defence of this country.’’

The Grants Program will provide grants of up $10,000 for minor capital works, and/or refurbishment, $5,000 for equipment purchases for RSL cubs, sub-branch and ex-service organisations, and up to $5,000 towards the repair and maintenance of war memorials, and construction of new memorials.

The Grants Program will also provide grants of up to $5,000 to eligible organisations for initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of veterans. A total of $50,000 in funding is available for Round Two.

The Grants Program Guidelines and Application Form are available from Department of Premier and Cabinet Tasmania’s website - www.dpac.tas.gov.au
