The Tasmanian Liberal Government is providing learners with inclusive and accessible facilities to support their education and development.
The $8.25 million redevelopment of the Southern Support School is one of the 38 education capital projects and programs our Government is delivering statewide.
The redevelopment addresses continued growth in enrolments and includes additional flexible learning spaces, amenities suitable for people with disabilities, breakout space, staff facilities, and a redeveloped childcare centre.
The project included two stages of development:
These new spaces will greatly support the education and wellbeing of students, as well as staff and visiting support personnel who do such a fantastic job.
I would like to thank Architect M2A and VOS Construction and Joinery for their involvement in this significant project.
The project is part of our Government’s record investment in new education infrastructure, and our strong commitment to delivering modern, up-to-date facilities for our learners.
A $10.2 million upgrade of Northern Support School was completed in 2018 and as part of our 2021 election commitments, we have also committed to a $15.5 million redevelopment of the North West Support School.
Our Government is delivering for all Tasmanians.
