Nic Street,

Seniors Week 2022 to ENRICH our Tasmanian community again

Seniors Week is back this year from Monday 17 October-Sunday 23 October.

It’s only a month away and the Events Guide is available on the Council On The Aging Tasmania website right now, so you can start planning.

The Tasmanian Government is proud to sponsor Seniors Week and this year’s program is vitally important because the past two years have been challenging, particularly for older Tasmanians.

Now, more than ever, Seniors Week provides an important opportunity to reconnect with community and friends and to celebrate all that living in Tasmania has to offer. Older Tasmanians have a wealth of knowledge that enriches our community life, so it is fitting that the theme for this year is 'Enrich'.

There are more than 400 Seniors Week events on offer this year around the State, many of them free or gold coin donation and all of them are in person.

The program has a really useful ‘Daily Planner’ for events: organised in South, North and North-West sections - and Metro Tasmania is offering Seniors Card holders free travel during Seniors Week again this year.

All the details about Seniors Week 2022 are available on COTA’s website https://www.cotatas.org.au/ including a downloadable version of the program and hard copies of the program will be distributed statewide in coming weeks.

This year, the Seniors Week official launch will be at Penguin Surf Life Saving Club on Friday 30 September from 10.30am-midday. It’s a free public invite event, and you’ll need to RSVP on the COTA website if you’d like to attend.
