Opposition Leader Dean Winter must come clean about what role former Labor Leader and personal mentor Paul Lennon is playing in his stadium backflip.
Liberal Member for Clark, Simon Behrakis said Tasmania’s worst kept secret is that Mr Winter’s stunning stadium backflip has been orchestrated by Mr Lennon – the well paid lobbyist who's spruiking the Stadium 2.0 project.
“The fix is in: Mr Winter is paving the way to back the Lennon project,” Mr Behrakis said.
“Mr Winter pretends he’s had an epiphany but the truth is the job he is backing is those of Mr Lennon’s mates.
“Mr Winter is also now a convert to job outsourcing: he’s effectively outsourced the job of Opposition Leader to his lobbyist mate.
“Did Winter’s stadium backflip go through the Labor Caucus or did he bypass them because Captain Lennon made the call on his behalf?
“Mr Winter needs to explain what discussions he’s had with Mr Lennon about his stadium strategy.
“He’s not only infuriated his Labor colleagues with his secret stadium deal – being rolled out a day after the Upper House elections, he’s treating all Tasmanians like fools.
“Mr Winter is facing his own integrity crisis: Tasmanians need to know who he really is representing: his constituents, or a Labor lobbyist.”
