A community consultation process has started today on a long-term master plan for South Hobart Primary School as part of the Tasmanian Government’s plan to improve educational outcomes.
The four-week consultation will provide an opportunity for students, staff and the broader South Hobart community to help shape a long-term master plan for the school, designed to relieve capacity issues currently being experienced at the school.
Despite significant investment in new classroom space and facilities in 2017, the school has continued to experience a surge in student enrolment numbers.
The consultation includes an online survey and workshops with students, staff and the local community, with feedback to be interpreted by the architect during the master planning process over the coming months.
The Tasmanian Government is committed to ensuring our students have the school environments needed to learn, grow and thrive.
The State Budget includes the biggest ever commitment into education infrastructure in Tasmania’s history with $204.1 million targeted at new schools, school upgrades, school farms and Child and Family Learning Centres.
