Outstanding Tasmanian athletes and coaches recognised at TIS breakfast

More talented Tasmanian athletes and coaches will receive support from the Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS), with 78 athletes receiving high performance scholarships.

Scholarships provide athletes and coaches with a range of support, including strength and conditioning coaching, training equipment, and access to athlete wellbeing services.

The breakfast also recognised the TIS Coaching Centre Scholarships and Women in Sport Coaching Scholarships. Recipients of 2022-2023 TIS Coaching Centre Scholarships are Paul Crosswell (swimming), Kaitlyn Fassina (weightlifting) and Ciona Wilson (rowing).

The Women in Sport Coaching scholarship is offered in partnership with Womensport & Recreation Tasmania and the 2022 recipients are Liz Gray (athletics), Pip Martin (tennis) and Sarah McCambridge (hockey).

Three-time world champion, Commonwealth Games medallist and Olympian Amy Cure and four-time Olympian and silver medallist Kerry Hore were inducted into the TIS Champions Club.

Congratulations to all the incredible Tasmanian athletes and support staff who were recognised at this morning’s breakfast.
