New data reveals the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) continued to support Tasmanians during 2020 despite the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The NDIS Quarterly Report showed that 92 per cent of respondents found their individual NDIS plan was helping them progress to their goals, which was up six per cent on the previous quarter.
It also found that the number of younger people in residential aged care nationally fell by 22 per cent, compared to two years ago.
The majority of the participants also reported feeling happy at home including 76 per cent in the 15-24 age group and 75 per cent in 25 years and over group.
The NDIS supports more than 10,100 people with disability in Tasmania which includes more than 5,600 who are under the age of 16.
The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to working with people with disability, their families, carers, disability providers and the wider community, to build a more equitable, inclusive and accessible state for all Tasmanians.
