With the passing of the Education Legislation Amendments (Education Regulation) Bill 2021 through the Parliament, the Tasmanian Liberal Government is ensuring we will have a modern regulatory framework for Education Regulation in Tasmania.
This will help drive quality in our education system and ultimately better outcomes for our learners.
The Teachers Registration Board Tasmania (TRB), the Office of Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification (TASC), the Registrar Education, and the Non-Government Schools Registration Board (NGRSB) all provide critical regulatory oversight and support services to education in Tasmania.
The Regulators contribute to the quality of teaching that learners experience; how students’ learning is assessed and recognised; the quality and safety of learning environments; and the extent to which students are participating and engaged in learning pathways.
The Bill was developed following considerable consultation with relevant stakeholders and includes three principal elements.
Through this legislation the Tasmanian Liberal Government is ensuring our education regulatory framework meets the needs of our learners into the future.
