The 2022 Tasmanian Chamber Music Festival has been launched today, with this year’s event to be held in October, bringing first class classical music from around Australia to Evandale, Longford and Westbury in the State’s North.
Following cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, the festival returns this year with a bumper back-to-back program of two consecutive festivals across five days, between Wednesday 17 October and Sunday 21 October.
The festival showcases classical music with local food and wine, set against the beautiful heritage buildings, gardens and landscapes of Northern Tasmania. The expanded program will mean even more patrons will be able enjoy the magic of world class chamber music in the region’s intimate historic venues.
The 2022 festival will provide a welcome boost for Tasmania’s arts and tourism sectors, supporting local jobs and our economy, as we continue to adapt to living with COVID-19 in our community.
As always, this year’s program features a stellar artistic line up, offering a wonderful opportunity for not only locals but also interstate visitors and tourists to plan a trip to Northern Tasmania, and enjoy everything the festival and our regions have to offer.
The Tasmanian Liberal Government is a proud supporter of the festival, with $200,000 committed over four years to secure the event’s future in the North until 2024.
