Labor’s deceptive budget trickery has been shown up by the Greens' alternative Budget reply.
Treasurer, Michael Ferguson, said whilst it’s an anti-jobs, anti-industry Budget reply, we at least recognise the fact the Greens have actually pulled one together, unlike Lazy Labor’s Shane Broad and Rebecca White.
“The Greens deserve some credit for putting their job-destroying agenda on full display - which would only lead to more bureaucrats, worse road safety outcomes, scare off investment in Tasmania and ultimately lead to an unsustainable Budget position," Mr Ferguson said.
“I at least see the Greens’ being honest about the fact that they would never deliver a surplus, but elements of their financial statement are clearly underfunded, and the true picture is likely much worse.
“Notwithstanding that, they are trying harder than the official opposition in Tasmanian Labor, because they have the courage to commit their ideas to a costed operating statement, in an attempt to provide an alternative Budget with costings and estimated savings – no matter how ill advised they are.
“This flies in the face of Opposition Leader Rebecca White’s wishy-washy Budget reply talk yesterday, which would only set about breaking the Budget.
"Dr Broad was relegated to asking questions on health in the Parliament today. Is this because he agreed to the ludicrous position of Ms White that their promised health spending "would pay for itself"?
"The deception is dishonest and cruel to Tasmanians who would listen to Labor's tricky budget promises. Meanwhile, the Rockliff Liberal Government is putting real money into real new services in health, education, police and housing."
