Keeping Tasmanian sporting organisations informed

More than 30 State sporting organisations attended a recent COVID-19 online information forum to stay updated on current Public Health and Tasmanian Government requirements and restrictions as clubs return to play across the State.

Organisations submitted a range of questions about their activities and operations, with staff from the Department of Communities, Sport and Recreation providing clarity on a number of COVID related topics.

This forum was important to give clubs and organisations piece of mind as summer sporting competitions continue around Tasmania.

Organisations found the forum extremely beneficial with AusCycling's Craig Notman saying “the information provided is a great assistance considering a number of questions we are currently fielding in this space."

The CEO of Gymnastics Tasmania, Brooke Kneebush said her organisation “found the session extremely helpful in confirming the information relevant for provision of our clubs”.

All the information provided during the forum has been sent to all of Tasmania’s State sport and recreation organisations so that they can share it with their member leagues, associations and clubs.

The Department of Communities, Sport and Recreation will continue to provide regular COVID-19 updates via email to a range of sporting organisations and individuals, and any with questions about COVID protocols are urged to contact sportrec@communities.tas.gov.au or phone 1800 252 476.
