Keeping Loaves and Fishes Tasmania on the road

The Tasmanian Government understands that many Tasmanians are impacted by cost-of-living press and gaining access to the basics.

The Government is a proud supporter of Loaves and Fishes Tasmania which helps thousands of individuals and families with food relief throughout the State.

To help Loaves and Fishes stay on the road two new trucks with refrigeration capacity were required to replace aging infrastructure. One truck will be based in Devonport and one in Hobart.

Through generous support from its many sponsors and supporters, Loaves and Fishes raised $90,000 in donations and the Tasmanian Government has provided the additional $190,000 to complete the purchase.

These new vehicles will enable Loaves and Fishes to expand its emergency food relief reach to more Tasmanians in need.

In 2022-23 the Tasmanian Government has provided Loaves and Fishes with $891,966 in funding to purchase, prepare and distribute meals to Tasmanians doing it tough and we thank their staff and team of volunteers for their commitment to local communities.
