JackJumpers shooting for fairytale finish to incredible season

Congratulations to the Tasmania JackJumpers who have secured their spot in the finals in their inaugural NBL season.

The JackJumpers have shown determination and grit in their first season and have far exceeded expectations with 17 wins.

The success of the team is a testament to the amount of work that the entire organisation has put in from Day 1, and we acknowledge Coach Scott Roth, every one of the 15 new players, CEO Simon Brookhouse, along with all of the staff and volunteers who have helped to build something special.

While everyone in Tasmania has seen firsthand the prowess of Scott Roth, it is exciting to see his commitment to the team recognised nationwide with his nomination for the Hungry Jack’s NBL Lindsay Gaze Coach of the Year Award. JackJumpers Captain, Clint Steindl, has also been named as a finalist in the Sixth Man of the Year category following a successful season on and off the court. We congratulate Scott and Clint on these achievements and wish them all the best for the awards night this Wednesday.

Following their impressive 22-point win against Melbourne United on Saturday, the JackJumpers will now face off against the defending champions this Thursday, April 28 at John Cain Arena.

The best-of-three series will continue with the second and third games to be played at MyState Bank Area on Saturday, April 30 and John Cain Area on Monday May 2.

The JackJumpers inaugural NBL Season has only cemented Tasmania’s commitment to delivering more elite sporting content for Tasmanians to enjoy, and to provide pathways for our local sports men, women and children.

Our Government is proud of the support we have provided to secure a basketball team that all Tasmanians can get behind. The JackJumpers have been successful in uniting the basketball community and building a loyal fanbase.

It has been amazing to see the buzz that the JackJumpers have created for the sport around the State with more and more young Tasmanians getting active as a result.

The entire State will be cheering them on over the next week.
