The Tasmanian Liberal Government recognises the importance of the sport and recreation sector to the Tasmanian community and is committed to supporting all Tasmanians to access sport and recreation opportunities.
I am pleased to announce that 41 projects from across Tasmania will share in more than $8.4 million in funding from the 2021-22 Improving the Playing Field Grants Program (Large Grants).
The Program aims to assist sporting clubs and associations improve facilities across Tasmania, helping to maintain and build participation rates across all sporting codes.
The Program is also providing assistance in supporting the building and construction industry and local jobs.
Improving the Playing Field is being provided through two streams – small grants for projects between $25,000 and $50,000 and large grants for projects between $50,000 and $500,000.
Projects to receive funding under the 2021-22 Program (Large Grants) include:
Funding under the Large Grants Program will contribute towards projects costing over $17 million in total around the State.
