Private landholders and not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations impacted by the severe weather and flooding event in October 2022 will be able to apply for a new grant from Monday 30 January.
Over $800,000 in grants have already been approved under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) to support individuals, small businesses, primary producers and non-profit organisations with their recovery from this event.
These further grant programs form part of the $15 million targeted flood recovery support package announced earlier this year, which is being jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Tasmanian governments.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff noted the importance of continuing to support affected communities in their recovery phase.
“We’ve always said that we’ll be there for our flood-affected communities when they need us,” Premier Rockliff said.
“We’ve listened to the local community, developing these additional grant programs as a direct result of the conversations we’ve had with them.
“This further support, funded in partnership with our Federal colleagues, is targeted at private landowners, and not-for-profit organisations who may not have been eligible under prior programs,” Premier Rockliff said.
The Private Landowner Clean-up and Restoration Grants of up to $10,000 will be available to assist private landowners or leaseholders with the costs of cleaning up debris and repairing damage on their property. In exceptional circumstances, up to $25,000 may be made available.
The Private Landowner Clean-up and Restoration Grants will close on Friday 3 March.
Under the Sport and Recreation Recovery Grant program, grants of up to $25,000 will be available to assist with the costs of clean-up and reinstatement of not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations.
These organisations play an integral part in local economies and communities, and this assistance is designed to help minimise disruption in the affected areas and support the broader community to recover.
The Sport and Recreation Recovery Grants will close on Monday 27 March.

Applicants without internet access or an appropriate device to complete the application form are encouraged to visit their local library or online access centre.
Libraries Tasmania staff and volunteers will be available to help people use a public access computer or connect to wi-fi to complete their application.
A reminder that the recovery grants for non-profit organisations, and the Tier One grants for small businesses and primary producers close at 2pm on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
