Tasmans Arch and Devils Kitchen upgrades nearing completion

Accessibility improvements to the Tasmans Arch and Devils Kitchen are nearing completion, marking a significant milestone in the Tasmanian Government’s second stage of the Revitalisation Project.

Minister for Parks, Nick Duigan, said the project delivers improved accessibility, upgraded walking tracks, and enhanced viewing areas for visitors.

“We have invested $1.65 million in upgrades to walking tracks, lookouts and visitor infrastructure at these popular natural attractions on the Tasman Peninsula and we can't wait to see the project complete in coming weeks,” Minister Duigan said.

“Improving accessibility for people with disability across Parks and local communities is a key part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future.

“The completed works provide greater all-abilities access to the Tasmans Arch and Devils Kitchen sites, allowing more people to enjoy these iconic destinations.”

Liberal Member for Lyons, Jane Howlett, said Tasmans Arch and Devils Kitchen are among Tasmania's most iconic and popular visitor attractions.

“These upgrades make the experience safer, more accessible and more enjoyable for everyone,” Ms Howlett said.

“These works have been scheduled to be completed in time for the busy visitor summer season and we look forward to more people experiencing Tasmania’s natural environment.”

The project was delivered by Tasmanian company AJR Construct Pty Ltd as the major works contractor, supported by a range of local contractors who contributed to the infrastructure and accessibility improvements.

This project follows on from Stage 1 of the Tasman Gateway Project completed in 2022 which included a new public toilet facility, upgraded car park, and a dedicated bus layby area.
