Multi-School Organisation Trial to go statewide

The Tasmanian Government is continuing to strengthen support for schools and improve student outcomes, with the nation-leading Multi-School Organisation (MSO) trial set to expand to the north west.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, hailed this is a significant milestone in the Government’s ongoing efforts to lift student outcomes.

“I am so pleased to announce MSO3 will be established in the North West, making this a truly statewide trial,” Minister Palmer said.

“We are building an even better education system, delivering nation-leading reforms that will lift student outcomes, reduce teacher workload and support the wider school community.

“By working more closely together through multi-school organisations, schools can share expertise, build capability and better respond to the needs of students.

“We are taking action to improve outcomes for our students by strengthening support for principals and teachers, reducing administrative burdens, and enabling schools to focus more on teaching, learning and student wellbeing.

“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are investing in our schools to set young Tasmanians up for life.”

MSO3 will commence in 2028 following planning and consultation with schools in the region.
