Eric Abetz, Treasurer

The latest NAB business survey shows Tasmania remains the only state with positive results for both business confidence and conditions.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the results showed Tasmanian businesses are resilient.

“Business confidence is an important signal for investment, jobs and the decisions businesses make about their future,” the Premier said.

"It's no secret, there are challenging global conditions.

"Tasmania stands out. We have the strongest confidence in the nation and are the only jurisdiction with positive results for both confidence and conditions.

"Our Northern Economic Plan is delivering certainty and a strong pathway forward for the Northern economy.

"Backing our regions and the productive businesses they support is key - and our $20 million Recovery Fund for Regional Resilience cements this for generations."

Treasurer Eric Abetz said every effort was underway to support and grow Tasmanian businesses.

"Tasmania's export value continues to grow, we're delivering targeted investment to grow businesses and we're seeing our economy grow as a result," the Treasurer said.

"We have some of the world's most sought after minerals and metals, our primary producers continue to excel and our advanced manufacturing continues to innovate to new heights.

“Our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future is focused on backing local businesses, supporting jobs and creating the conditions for our economy to grow.”
