Families in Westbury and surrounding communities are invited to have their say on the concept plans for a new Education and Care Facility at Westbury Primary School.

The new $5 million early education and care facility will provide 36 additional places and will be co-located at Westbury Primary School to support growing demand in the region.

The project is funded from the Australian Government's $1 billion Building Early Education Fund, which provides capital funding to build or expand early learning services in areas of greatest need, including regional communities such as Westbury.

The new facility will support workforce participation, strengthen regional communities and help more children get a great start in life.

The tender for the building contractor is expected to be released in late 2026, with construction anticipated to begin in mid-2027.

The facility is expected to be completed in the first half of 2028.

Consultation is open until 23 October 2026. Feedback can be provided by emailing the project team at getinvolved@decyp.tas.gov.au

Architects have also been appointed for other Building Early Education Fund projects at Bothwell, Bruny Island and Rosetta.

Concept plans are available here.
