Jo Palmer, Minister for Education
Tasmania's senior secondary students are preparing to complete their end-of-year external assessments, marking an important milestone in their learning journey.
There are 40 written exams over a nine-day exam period. Exams begin on Monday 9 November with Electronics and Advanced Technologies and General Mathematics and conclude on Thursday 19 November with Housing and Design and Modern History.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, wished students all the best over this period.
“Senior secondary students have spent the year building their knowledge, skills and confidence in courses they are passionate about, and I congratulate them on reaching this important stage of the year,” Minister Palmer said.
“To those students who are feeling stressed or a little overwhelmed at exam time it's important to remember you have done the work during the year, believe in yourself and most importantly be kind to yourself.
“I also want to acknowledge the hard working and dedicated teaching and school staff who support students in our schools every day to ensure they are well prepared for exams, as well as the families and carers who provide support at home.
“More than 6,400 students will be taking part and I wish every single one of them the very best in their academic endeavours.
“Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future our Government is proud to continue to deliver strong outcomes for Tasmanian learners.”
Year 11 and 12 students will receive their results statements for all 2026 courses on Wednesday 16 December.
