The Tasmanian Government is delivering the school infrastructure our students need, with the construction tender now released for the $12 million redevelopment of East Derwent Primary School.
The scope of works has been shaped through extensive consultation with students, staff and the the broader community.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said through our $188 million School Building Blitz, we are delivering upgrades to schools across Tasmania.
"We know that providing our learners with the best possible facilities supports them to do their best learning, and these new upgrades will be an absolute gamechanger for the East Derwent school community," Minister Palmer said.
"This $12 million project will provide new and refurbished general learning areas, specialist support spaces, new administration building and outdoor learning and play areas.
“Through our Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we’re continuing our strong record of delivering world-class education facilities that support our students to grow and thrive.
"By continuing to invest in new and upgraded education facilities, we're helping build an even better Tasmania."
Subject to the outcome of the tender process, construction works are expected to commence early in 2027.
