Gavin Pearce, Minister for Primary Industries and Water

The Tasmanian Government is backing in landholders to protect and improve natural assets on their property.

Funded through the Tasmanian Government’s Landcare Action Grants program, Landcare Tasmania has delivered grant funding to 23 organisations.

Minister for Primary Industries and Water, Gavin Pearce, said our Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmanians.

“The Landcare Action Grants program supports the joint goal of enhancing agricultural practices and conservation activities,” Minister Pearce said.

“The 23 successful projects for this round range from fencing off waterways and native bush, to creek restoration, to planting to rehabilitate threatened vegetation.

“We know that improving land management is key to increasing farm resilience, and this will serve as an important part of our goal to sustainably grow the annual farm gate value of agriculture to $10 billion by 2050.”

In 2024-25 the Tasmanian Government committed $1.865 million over three years to ensure the important work of Landcare Tasmania continues, featuring $900,000 for the Landcare Action Grants program.
