A comprehensive and fair three-year wage agreement has been offered to more than 15,000 Tasmanian State Service employees.

Following extensive and constructive negotiations, the package delivers improvements to pay, conditions and workplace support.

The Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025 proposal includes a pay rise of 3 per cent in year one, 3 per cent in year two and 2.75 per cent in year three, as well as a range of incentives and conditions, and is in line with the offer accepted by police.

In addition, the proposal includes a further boost to salaries for the majority of state servants covered under the agreement.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said this is a strong and responsible offer that recognises the contribution of our public sector workforce.

“It provides fair salary increases, modernised conditions and important reforms that support the broader State Service workforce,” Premier Rockliff said.

“A range of targeted allowances and reforms have also been proposed across the Service ensuring fairness, safety and recognition for specialised and high pressure workforces.

“The offer includes offsets that support modernisation, efficiency and improved workforce practices.

“Given the extremely positive package on the table, which delivers on our shared priorities, we see absolutely no reason for any further work bans.

“The Tasmanian Government has delivered pay rises for doctors, police, firefighters and education facility attendants.”

The offer remains open until close of business on 31 March 2026, ensuring employees can also receive backpay to the first full salary increase on or after 1 December 2025.
