Tasmania’s next generation of endurance athletes will be on show this weekend at the Devonport Triathlon.

Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events, Jane Howlett, said the event is a key fixture on the State’s sporting calendar.

"This weekend, the Devonport Triathlon brings together elite and community athletes while showcasing Tasmania as a destination for major sporting events," Minister Howlett said.

"Events like this highlight the very best of our State, from our stunning coastal landscapes to the welcoming communities that make Tasmania such a fantastic place to compete and visit.

"The Devonport Triathlon has earned a strong reputation over many years, continuing to attract elite competitors and dedicated age-group athletes from across Australia.

"Our Government is delivering for Tasmania by investing in events that support local communities, bring visitors to our regions, and create opportunities for athletes of all ages."

The Tasmanian Government continues to invest in major events like the Devonport Triathlon through Events Tasmania, recognising the important role they play in growing the visitor economy and supporting regional communities.

The Devonport Triathlon runs from Friday 13 March to Sunday 15 March 2026 at the Mersey Bluff, Devonport.
