Nominations open for the 2026 Tasmanian Training Awards

The Tasmanian Training Awards are back for another year, celebrating Tasmania’s vocational education and training (VET) sector. 

Minister for Skills and Jobs, Felix Ellis, said nominations for the 2026 Tasmanian Training Awards were now open, providing an opportunity to recognise the excellence of students, teachers, employers and training organisations.

“The Tasmanian Training Awards is a celebration of the almost 8,700 apprentices and trainees in training across Tasmania,” Minister Ellis said.

“The value of vocational education and training continues to be proven with more than 83 per cent of government funded VET graduates in Tasmania being employed after their training, a significant jump on the national average of only 74.4.

“The Liberal Government is delivering for Tasmania, with our Tasmanian Skills Plan ensuring learners and employers are at the centre of everything we do to create more jobs and grow the economy."

Minister Ellis said the Training Awards presented students, employers, teachers and training organisations with valuable professional development opportunities that were part and parcel of becoming a winner.  

“Before our winners head off to represent Tasmania in the Australian Training Awards they will spend time with previous winners hearing about their experiences, hone their interview skills and build their confidence in public speaking,” Minister Ellis said.

“I encourage anyone doing well in their training journey to enter for the awards, and for anyone that knows an exceptional learner or teacher to nominate them now.”

Tasmania’s award winners will advance to the annual Australian Training Awards to compete against winners from all states and territories for the national titles in Sydney later in the year.
