Jeremy Rockliff, Premier

As part of Their Royal Highnesses first official visit to Tasmania since becoming King and Queen, they will be visiting Hunter Street on Hobart’s waterfront on Thursday, 19 March at 4.30pm.

Hunter Street will be closed to traffic, with bollards placed on each side of the road to maximise opportunities for Tasmanians to engage with Their Royal Highnesses.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff said this is a rare and exciting opportunity for Tasmanians.

“Tasmanians and Queen Mary have a special bond, and we are delighted the King and Queen of Denmark will be finishing up their Australian visit in our great state,” the Premier said.

“This is a significant national event, and it’s fitting for Tasmanians to be able to welcome Queen Mary home in-person.

“I encourage all Tasmanians to come along, bring flags, wear tiaras, and show the King and Queen what makes our state the most magnificent place in our country.”
