Felix Ellis, Minister for Innovation, Science, and the Digital Economy

Outstanding achievements in Tasmania’s ICT sector were recognised at last night's 2026 TasICT Excellence Awards held in Hobart.

Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy, Felix Ellis, said the State’s $1.1 billion ICT sector, which employs around 11,200 Tasmanians, continues to deliver innovative solutions and drive our economic future.

"Congratulations to all nominees and winners. Their achievements demonstrate the talent and innovation that continue to position Tasmania as a leader in technology and digital innovation,” Minister Ellis said.

“Our future economic success is linked to the ability of businesses to fully embrace and actively participate in the digital economy.

“We recognise this and have allocated $200,0000 in the 2026-27 Budget to support the continued upskilling of workers and strengthen ICT capability across the state.

“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we’re working with TasICT to promote, develop and celebrate our ICT sector and increase collaboration to harness the strengths of the digital economy.”
