Marcus Vermey, Parliamentary Secretary for Community and Multicultural Affairs
Tasmanian audiences are set to be serenaded as the Festival of Voices begins on July 3.
Parliamentary Secretary for Community and Multicultural Affairs, Marcus Vermey, said the festival was a key event on Tasmania’s winter calendar, attracting visitors and supporting local businesses across the State.
“Festival of Voices has a strong track record of bringing the community together through the power of singing,” Mr Vermey said.
“Last year, the festival welcomed close to 40,000 people, which demonstrates its role as an iconic cultural event as well as its contribution to Tasmania’s visitor economy.
“I encourage all Tasmanians to check out this year’s program and participate in some of the many free or ticketed events on offer before they sell out.”
The Tasmanian Government supports the delivery of the event with an investment of $3.09 million from 2026 to 2028, with a further $425,000 through the Tasmanian Festival and Event Support Fund.
This year’s program features crowd favourite The Big Sing, led by Casey Donovan, as well as the popular Pop-up Program, delivering 260 free choir performances across more than 70 venues across the State.
“As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, our Government is investing in events like Festival of Voices that help keep our economy strong and drive visitation during the off-season,” Mr Vermey said.
Festival of Voices runs from 3 to 12 July 2026 around Tasmania.
